Back2BLACK!

The 3rd Annual Designer Art Signature series...Back2BLACK!!!

Back2BLACK is about celebrating, acknowledging and appreciating the beautiful aesthetic of the color BLACK!!!

BLACK is Royal, Strong, Beautiful and Bold! It cannot be intimidated or eliminated by other colors in the spectrum, it can stand alone and be silent in the midst of chaotic distraction. This new fine art series from Shurvon Shaynlicia Fashion and Fine Arts Designs will be an all black collage assemblage of the world's global journey through the African Diaspora.

'Back2Black' is the NEW BLACK, never to be duplicated or imitated. Our Black has Always and Forever will be a Beautiful Blackness!

Original Black African American Art by: Keith 1980 - 1990's

Black African-American Fine Arts
Originals by Airbrush Artist
Keith Haynes

1980 - 1990's

This is a video of the first images of professional Black Fine Arts I had ever seen. I grew up studying these paintings made with great artistic detail by my Uncle Keith.
He is an airbrush artists extraordinaire.

He also completed a very important art installation for Sound Transit, read this quote from the Seattle Times Newspaper for more information:

Soon to be installed, Augusta Asberry’s “Come Dance With Me,” a group of stylized cutout steel figures of joyously dancing African women, looks toward the traditions of her ancestors. Sadly, the Bremerton artist died last year of breast cancer at age 75 before her piece was completed. Seattle artist Keith Haynes is finishing the painting on the sculptures, which are slated for installation this summer on the South Plaza at the Othello Station.
In a statement for her Women Painters of Washington biography, Asberry said about her work: “Designs, color and motion are the elements that dance around in my head and become the heart of my work. My off-balanced arrangement of these elements without a focal point is like ‘offbeat phrasing in jazz music.’ I invite the viewer to linger awhile and ‘listen for the beat that is never sounded.’ “

American Theory

American Theory, was painted live on January 8, 2017 at the Tacoma Art Museum's Free Community Festival for the 30 Americans Fine Arts Exhibit sponsored by the Rubell Family Foundation.

There were approximately 45 fine art paintings, sculptures, installations and video presentations included in this exhibit, each art piece created by a famous Black African American Visual Artists, on display for first time on the West Coast.

I was truly honored and blessed to have one of my collage assemblage paintings showcased for the last week of this celebrated African American Fine Arts Legacy. Words cannot fully explain the powerful historical relevance of the 30 Americans Fine Arts Exhibit.

The opportunity to see exquisite original artwork made by Kara Walker, Kerry James Marshall and Kehinde Wiley was more than worth the 45 minutes ride from Seattle. It was if I had reconnected with the spirit of creativity from our enslaved African ancestors as I walked through the museum and witnessed the creative energy in the building.

'American Theory' is also the first painting I have made this year in remembrance to the universal significance of the African Diaspora, as we honor Black African American History in the United States.
